The three weeks, in order

What happens after you send the message

Numbered because it genuinely is a sequence — each stage has to dry, set or cure before the next one starts.

DAY 1–2 · CUTTING

The hide is chosen and marked

Hides differ — scars, brands, stretch along the belly. Your panels get cut from the firm part, the straps from along the spine. You get a photo of the marked hide before the knife goes in.

DAY 3–12 · STITCHING

Every hole is pricked and sewn by hand

Two needles, one thread, crossing in each hole. It takes about nine hours for a weekender, and it is why a cut stitch never unravels the seam the way a machine lockstitch does.

DAY 13–21 · FINISHING

Edges burnished, then left to settle

Edges are sanded, waxed and burnished by friction until they are glass-smooth. Then the bag sits for a few days so the leather takes its shape before it ships.

Ordering

Send one message and I’ll take it from there

  1. Tell me which model, and anything you want changed — length of strap, no hardware, a different colour of thread.
  2. I confirm the price and the week it ships. Half up front, half when it’s finished.
  3. You get a photo of the marked hide, and another when it’s stitched.
